Carbon pricing internalizes the GHG externality. Fintech — blockchain, smart contracts, digital MRV — improves transparency and enables tokenization of carbon credits. But carbon market governance remains political and vulnerable to greenwashing without robust data verification.
Generative AI can automate sustainability reporting, detect greenwashing, and accelerate compliance across CSRD, SFDR, and SEC frameworks. But hallucinations, bias, and opacity demand human-in-the-loop validation — and AI's own carbon footprint demands reflection.
An epilogue framing the FinTech Revolution as a complex of opportunities (buds), pitfalls (thorns), and successes (roses). The emerging tools are real, the challenges are real, and the work continues.
